How Does Botox Treatment Work

The Treatment of Botox

Botulinum toxin (also known as Botox) is a purified form of protein that is injected into the facial muscles which cause lines and wrinkles. The result of this is to relax these muscles by blocking their nerve signals temporarily. This causes wrinkles and lines to become removed, reduced and softened.

How Do Dermal Fillers Work

The Treatment of Dermal Fillers

Filler injections are made from hyaluronic acid; this acid is a natural substance in our body, which keeps our skin well supported. As we age, the hyaluronic acid in our body decreases and so wrinkles and lines appear. Therefore, facial fillers work by injecting hyaluronic acid into the desired facial area, which will lift and smooth these areas, as they add fullness and volume to the face.

What Are The Most Effective Areas To Get Botox

The Areas Botox Works Best

Botox only works on muscles which create lines and wrinkles through constant and movement and expressions. Therefore, the places where Botox works effectively are the forehead, glabella (frown lines) and crows feet (under eye lines).

Benefits of Botox

  • Cheaper Option

We offer our Botox services at a very good price, including price reductions when two or more Botox areas are chosen.

  • No long-term side effects

The only side effect of swelling and bruising will go down in a few days and can be covered with make-up.

  • Short recovery time

There is no recovery time for Botox, so you will be able to return to your normal activities straight after it is done.

  • Can stop excess sweating

The chemical that triggers the sweat glands can be temporarily stopped by Botox, to help people with this condition.

  • Can treat medical conditions such as migraines

As Botox relaxes the muscles in your head, it can be used to treat migraines by reducing the pains felt in the head.

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

  • Lasts much longer

The results can last up to 1 to 2 years, meaning they are a worthwhile investment to keep you looking young.

  • Effects are noticeable straight away

The plumpness and smoothness caused by facial fillers can be seen straight after treatment.

  • Short recovery time

Recovery time is only 24 to 48 hours, so dermal fillers will not drastically disrupt your life.

  • Beneficial for the skin

Hyaluronic acid, which is injected into the skin naturally moisturises and softens your skin.

  • Can improve appearance of scars

Dermal fillers can be used to treat scars, as hyaluronic acid softens the skin making scars less prominent on your face.

That should give you a good insight into the differences between our botox treatments and dermal fillers. Although this does not have to be an either-or decision.
